FAQ

Plain answers to the practical questions. If yours is not here, the contact page is open.

What is Mind Unveiled?+

A research library for the hidden history. It gathers three things in one place: the films, the reading tools, and the archives. You can read scripture set side by side, browse the library, and read a volume with a study assistant beside you. It is a research platform first, made for study rather than scrolling.

What can I do for free, and what comes with membership?+

Reading is free. Browse the films, browse the library, and read scripture in parallel without an account standing in your way. A free account adds a desk: room to keep notes, highlights, bookmarks and shelves.

Membership is for the deeper work: the films without ads, the listening room, the chat rooms, the assistants, and a larger desk for your notes and shelves. The three tiers are Patron at $7 a month, Researcher at $17, and Adept at $77. They differ mainly in how much research credit comes with them. See the tiers.

What are credits?+

Credits are the meter for the AI assistants. Each question you ask spends a small amount. Every tier includes a monthly allowance: 1,000 with Patron, 3,000 with Researcher, and 17,777 with Adept.

They are not money and have no cash value. They are the meter that keeps the assistants sustainable to run. See what each tier includes.

Do unused credits carry over to the next month?+

No. The monthly allowance arrives at the start of each month of a membership and resets at the end of that month. Credits left unused when a month closes do not carry over into the next one.

Is it really no refunds?+

Yes, and the reason is worth stating plainly. This is beta, and a subscription is patronage: you are supporting work that is still being built. So payments are not refunded.

Cancelling is available from the BILLING card on your account, and access runs to the end of the period already paid for. The Agreement says this in plain words, and the Terms of Service are the document that governs it.

How do I cancel?+

Open your desk, find the BILLING card, and press MANAGE BILLING. That opens the billing page held by the payment processor, where the subscription can be changed to another tier or cancelled. The same plan, the card on file and the same button also sit under Billing in Manage account, which opens from your profile picture on any page.

Moving to a higher tier starts now, and the difference for the days left in the month is charged then. Moving to a lower tier starts when the period already paid for ends, and the billing page names the date it changes on.

Access continues to the end of the period already paid for, and the subscription does not renew after that. The card shows the date either way: Renews while it is running, Ends once it is set to stop. Go to your billing.

Can the assistant be wrong?+

Yes. The assistants are a sharp study partner, not an oracle. They misread, they miss things, and they can state a guess with confidence. That is how these tools work, and it is not hidden here.

Check what matters against the source. Answers cite the text they draw on so that you can.

Is my data safe? What about ads?+

There are no ads on the site. Your data is not sold and not rented. The site is funded by subscriptions rather than advertising.

The tooling kept is for finding and fixing faults. What is collected, and why, is set out on the privacy page.

What does "beta" mean here?+

It means the work is being built in the open. Some things are rough, some drawers are still being carved, and now and then something breaks.

You are not the customer of a finished product. You are a founding supporter, here early, and that honesty is the point.

Who runs this?+

One person builds it, with one helper. A team of two. That is the whole staff. Read the story, or send a note.

What bibles are included?+

The Bible reader sets scripture side by side so you can compare how different printings render the same verse. The aim is to let you read the text as it was actually set in print, and check it for yourself. The collection grows as the reader does.

Can I use it on my phone?+

It is made to be read on a phone: the films, the library, the reader and your notes. In the reader, held upright, a phone shows one version. Turned sideways, a larger phone holds two, and a wider screen holds more. If something does not behave on your device, the contact page reaches a person.

Does watching use a lot of data on my phone?+

Worth knowing before you start one of the long ones. Several hours of film is a large amount of data, and on a mobile plan that adds up faster than most people expect.

Two things reduce it. A lower quality can be chosen in the player, and the audio can be played on its own, which uses a fraction of the data and suits films that are largely narration. On wifi the difference matters far less.

The film stopped, or the screen went black.+

Reload the page. Your place is saved as you watch, so it should start again close to where you were.

Films that run for hours will sometimes lose their connection, and a phone that has been locked for a while often needs a moment to find its place again. If a reload does not sort it, the contact page reaches a person.

It says I have tried to sign in too many times.+

Wait an hour and try again. After several failed attempts an account locks itself for a while, which is there to stop anyone else guessing their way in. It clears on its own, and nothing has happened to your membership.

If the password is the problem, use the reset link rather than guessing again. That works straight away.

How do I get help?+

The contact page is the door. Send a note there and it reaches a person.
