Privacy Policy
Version 2026-2·Effective August 7, 2026
This policy explains what Mind Unveiled LLC collects when you use the Mind Unveiled site, why, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to hide anything.
The short of it: we collect as little as we can, we don’t sell it, and your study is private to you. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, shelves and your conversations with the assistants are stored with your account. Which page of a PDF you were on stays in the browser you used.
01THE SHORT VERSION
- Your account is handled by Clerk; your password and login live with them, not us.
- Membership payments are handled by Stripe; your full card number never touches our servers.
- Merchandise is sold by Fourthwall on their own checkout, so the card, the name and the shipping address for an order never reach us at all.
- Your acceptance of The Agreement, anything you post into the shared chat rooms, and any message you write to us is stored in our database (Supabase).
- Your notes, highlights, bookmarks, shelves, where you left off in a film and your conversations with the assistants are stored with your account. Which page of a PDF you were on stays in the browser you used.
- None of your study is published, shown to another member, or sold.
- Nothing you write here is used to train a model: not your notes, not what you post in the rooms, not the questions you put to an assistant.
- There are no ads on the site, and no advertising or cross-site tracking script runs on it.
- We do not sell your personal data.
02WHAT WE COLLECT
Here is the whole of it, in the order it tends to happen.
- Account details, via Clerk. When you sign up, our authentication provider Clerk stores your email, name, and login credentials, and gives us an account identifier and basic profile (name, avatar). We rely on Clerk for sign-in; we never see your password.
- Payment details, via Stripe. Memberships run through Stripe. Stripe processes your card and billing information under its own privacy terms. Your full card number and security code never reach our servers. We receive only non-sensitive records such as your subscription status and tier.
- Consent records, in our database. When you accept The Agreement we record that you did: your account id and email, the Agreement version, whether the EU/UK immediate-access waiver applied, the moment you accepted, and your browser’s user-agent string. Accepting the chat room rules is recorded the same way, separately. These are our proof of informed consent.
- The chat rooms, in our database. Messages and notes you choose to post into shared areas are stored so the rooms can work, along with the display name and avatar shown beside them, and the short card line you can write about yourself. If a moderator removes a message, bars an account from the rooms, or a member reports a post, that action is recorded too, so there is an account of what was done and by whom.
- Your study, on your account. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, shelves and where you left off in a film. This is yours and it is private to you. The next section says exactly how it is treated.
- Credits and usage. The assistants are metered, so we keep a running record of credits granted and spent on your account. It records that a question was asked and what it cost, so a balance can be right and so abuse can be caught. Your conversations with the assistants are not part of it.
- Messages you write to us. The contact form and the member support desk store what you send: your name, your email address, the subject and the message itself, and, if you are signed in, your account and tier so we know who is writing. Replies are kept on the same thread. An address that reaches us through one of those doors is also kept on a single list of addresses, with a note of which door it came through, so a future announcement can find you. Writing in is a record, not a subscription; see Email, below.
- Basic technical data. Like any website, our hosting handles ordinary request information, such as IP address and browser type, to serve pages and keep the site secure. Rate limits and abuse protection use it in the moment and do not build a profile from it.
03YOUR STUDY
Your study is yours. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, saved films, shelves and the chapter you had open are stored with your account, so that clearing a browser or picking up a different device does not erase what you have built. A copy is also kept in the browser you are using, so a page opens without waiting on the network, and so writing a note still works when the connection does not.
That material is private to you. It is not published, not shown to other members, not used to build a profile, and not sold. On the site itself there is no way to reach it except signed in as you. Reading preferences (which versions you have open, text size, playback quality) are settings rather than study, and those stay in the browser that set them. One other thing stays there as well: which page of a PDF you were on.
Deleting an item on the site deletes it from your account. Closing your account through your settings ends your sign-in. If you want the rest of what we hold removed as well, write to support@mindunveiled.com and ask. There is no automated deletion tool here: a request is read and handled by hand. We review each one, remove what it is reasonably possible to remove, and tell you what was done.
Two things sit outside that, and it is better that you know before you ask than after. Messages you posted into the shared chat rooms may stay where they are. They were written into a conversation other people are reading, and lifting one line out of a thread months later changes what everybody else wrote around it; a moderator can still remove a particular message. And the site is backed up as a matter of routine, so a copy of something removed from the live site can sit in a backup until that backup ages out of the cycle. The other exception is the records we are required to keep, described in How long we keep things, below.
04HOW WE USE IT
We use what we collect only to run the thing you came for:
- To give you an account, sign you in, and keep it secure.
- To provide membership, take payment, and manage your subscription.
- To run member features, including the AI assistants and the shared chat rooms.
- To read and answer the messages you send us.
- To send you necessary service messages (see Email, below).
- To keep the site safe from abuse, and to work out what is broken and fix it.
- To meet our legal obligations, and to hold the records we are required to hold.
Why we are allowed to. If you are in the EU or the UK, the law asks us to say what makes each of those uses lawful, so here it is in plain terms. Running your account, taking payment, and giving you the member features you signed up for rest on our contract with you. Keeping the site safe from abuse, finding and fixing what is broken, and reading and answering the messages you send us rest on our legitimate interest in running the place and protecting it and the people in it. Holding consent records and payment records rests on our legal obligations. Email with news about the site rests on your consent, which you can take back at any time.
05WHO HANDLES DATA FOR US
A site this size is built on other people’s services. Here is the whole list, and what each one touches. They act on our instructions and for the purposes above, each under its own privacy terms.
- Clerk · accounts and sign-in. Holds your email, your name, and your credentials.
- Stripe · membership payments. Holds your card and billing details; we see the subscription, not the card.
- Supabase · the database. Holds the member data described above: consent records, your study, credits and usage, the chat rooms, and your messages to us.
- Postmark · email delivery. Handles the messages the site sends, so it sees the address a message goes to and what it says.
- Fourthwall · merchandise. Runs the shop and its checkout, and holds everything about an order (see Buying merchandise, below).
- Cloudflare · storage and delivery of the films, the audio and the books. Serves those files to your browser, and so handles the request that fetches them.
- Vercel · hosting. Runs the site itself and handles ordinary request information such as IP address and browser type.
- The provider behind the assistants · answering your questions. When you ask an assistant something, the question and the passage, page or film you are working from are sent to the outside service whose model writes the answer, and your own notes go with it when the assistant is reading alongside them. It is used to write that answer and comes back to you. We do not keep the exchange, and the arrangement we hold with that service is a business one rather than a consumer one: what is sent to it is not used to train the model behind it.
Mind Unveiled is a United States company and the providers above are United States companies, so your data is handled in the United States. If we ever add or replace one of these, this list is where it is written down.
If you are in the EU or the UK, that means your data leaves your country: using the site sends it to the United States, which is where it is handled. Each of the companies above publishes its own terms for data that comes from Europe, and those terms cover the part each one handles.
06BUYING MERCHANDISE
The shop on this site is fulfilled by Fourthwall, and Fourthwall is the seller of record for merchandise. Choosing an item sends you to their checkout, which is where the purchase actually happens. Your card details, your name, your shipping address and your order history for merchandise are held by them, under their own privacy policy, and none of it reaches us.
What we send them is the item and the quantity you picked, and nothing about you. Buying merchandise does not create an account here, and it does not add you to anything on this site.
07ANALYTICS & TRACKING
There is no advertising on this site and no cross-site tracking. No third-party analytics script, advertising pixel, or tracker runs on these pages.
What exists is the ordinary record any host keeps of the requests it serves, which is what we look at to find and fix faults and to spot abuse. It is about counts and errors, not about building a marketing profile of you. If we ever add a measurement tool, it will be named in this section before it runs.
08WHAT WE NEVER DO
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent it or trade it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. It is shared only with the service providers listed above, each acting on our behalf to run the site, and otherwise only where the law requires it or where it is needed to protect the site, our rights, or someone’s safety.
Your study is not read for advertising and not used to profile you. Your conversations with the assistants are stored with your account, the same as the rest of your study, and they are not read except where it is needed to run the site or where the law requires it. What is sent out to answer a question, and to whom, is set out in Who handles data for us.
Nothing you write here is used to train a model. Not your notes, not your highlights, not what you post in the shared rooms, and not the questions you put to an assistant. The permissions you give over your own work are written out in section 9 of the Terms, and they go no further than holding it, backing it up, and showing it where you asked for it to be shown.
09EMAIL
The first kind of email is transactional: sign-in help, receipts, an answer to something you wrote in about, and important account or service notices. These come with using the site and with writing to us.
The second kind is news about the site, sent occasionally when there is something worth saying. Writing to us records your address; it does not put you on a mailing list on its own. Any mailing of that kind carries a way to leave it, and leaving it does not affect your membership or stop us answering you.
11YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK, and California, you have rights over your personal data. These generally include the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your data (subject to records we must keep, such as consent and payment history, and to messages already posted into the shared chat rooms).
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and, where it applies, port your data.
- Withdraw a consent you gave, without that affecting what was done before you withdrew it.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
Because we don’t sell personal data, there is nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any right, write to support@mindunveiled.com and we’ll help. Requests are read and handled by hand rather than by an automated tool: we review each one and act where it is reasonably possible, and deletion in particular is described under Your study, above. You may also reach Clerk, Stripe and Fourthwall directly about the data they hold as your account, payment and shop providers. If you are in the EU or the UK and you think we have handled your data badly, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
12HOW LONG WE KEEP THINGS
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Kind by kind, that means:
- Your account details last while your account is open.
- Your study lasts as long as your account, or until you delete it.
- Consent records and payment records are kept longer, because tax, accounting and proof of consent call for it.
- Messages you write to us, and records of moderation actions, are kept as the account of what was said and what was done.
- What you posted in a shared room stays in the room it was posted in, unless a moderator removes it.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
The site is backed up on a routine cycle so that a failure does not cost members their work. Those backups are copies of the site as it stood, which means something removed from the live site can remain in a backup until that backup is cycled out.
13IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, and we lean on established providers (Clerk, Stripe, Supabase) for the sensitive parts. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your personal data, we will notify you and any regulators as required by law, without undue delay.
14CHILDREN
The site is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and you must be at least 18 to hold an account, or older than that where you live if the age of majority there is higher. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
15CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as the site grows. When we do, we change the version and effective date at the top. For significant changes we’ll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
16HOW TO REACH US
For any privacy question or request, write to support@mindunveiled.com. The data controller is Mind Unveiled LLC, a United States company. Where data is handled is set out under Who handles data for us.
This is a plain-language document. It is still a contract.
